I was reminded again how blessed I am to have been gifted these beautiful lungs. As our power flickered off and on last night, I immediately went into survival mode, thinking I need to go get the generator for my oxygen concentrator - then realizing with a breath of relief that is no longer part of my life. Praise God for this new chance to live my life without this fear hanging over my head anymore.

Braved the cold and wind for some time outside with the fam. Got a few pockets of sunshine in as well. No regrets! I can't believe that just weeks ago I was still relying on a walker or wheelchair to get around. It is a miracle that I not only regained use of my right side, trained myself how to walk again but I am killing it on these wilderness walks now! Just so thankful for the amazing folks at UW, my support warriors that lifted me up and to God for where I am today. Beyond Blessed. We've really enjoyed cooking dinner together lately. So good. Tonight? Fajitas and ice cream sundae bar for dessert. Not sad about it! Hope everyone had a great day today!
We participated in a virtual cooking session via the Traditional Foods Program tonight on Zoom. Now we are enjoying our cod loaf, yummy salad and squash. Not just delicious but a great way to 'see' everyone's smiling faces. I raise my hands up in thanks to our Tribe and the beautiful people that work tirelessly to make these events happen.
Mild pampering with my momma while we watch Thor. Alden is also partaking but only if I didn't post photographic evidence for the world to see.
Great day today! Feeling better after a slight run down from my second covid vaccine earlier this week. The kids and I spent some time today breaking in our new electric bike. It has some decent speeds (up to 28mph) and an 80 mile range with one charge. We all took turns while walking the doggos on the discovery trail. Kids are finding things of their own they can sell and putting out feelers for odd jobs to save up for their own. Super cool to think we could all three cruise all the way to town and back with ease by this summer. So much fun, everyone loved the fresh air and has been all smiles today. Blessed and thankful for days like today!
My favorite daughter got me out of the house today and served up some delightful burgers from Oak Table. Walking around the orchard and garden was great for the body and mind!
What a beautiful day to get out to the community garden today! The weather was lovely and the company brought me so much joy! I love that I am now able to join in for some of these safe events. I'm not capable of doing much but I'm the queen of wandering around and visiting with people. And as an added bonus, I learned some really important things about pruning apple trees properly. Great day!
I made them pepperjack cheese and spinach stuffed bacon wrapped chicken for Valentines Day dinner. And I got some beautiful flowers! Blessed to have another special day with my favorites. Thank you to my donor and praise God! Hope everyone felt all the love feels today!
Managed to get out of the house for a bit today. Took the pups to the dog park. The sun was shining but the wind was blowing... brrrr!
I am still just soaking everything in and wrapping my head around what my life is now. Not having to cart around tanks of oxygen for simple outings like going to the dog park is a blessing and I will never again take for granted these simple things, things we don't even think about or consider until we are forced to live life in survival mode. I had grown accustomed to needing to cart around tanks and extra tubes and cannulas. Getting out of the house took planning and a ton of effort. Making sure we had enough tanks, that we had the correct rolling cart, that we had keys to lock and unlock the regulators, not to mention the actual regulators. Haha! It was an entire process to get out of the house - but now? I simply walk to my car, get in and drive away. It is a miracle. Please remember to be thankful for the simple things! I know I will! |
