Today was an interesting Sunday! We got up for drive-up church service just like we always do when I am feeling well enough to leave the house for an hour. We are really fortunate in that the church we call our home is literally shouting distance from our house. We can see Kings Way from our back deck! Today the pastor had his children take on the task of presenting communion, traveling from car to car in their very own PPE - inflatable dinosaur costumes! It brought out a lot of much needed laughs as we all continue to wait for things to be safe enough to officially gather inside the church. For now I am happy with the drive-up service and thankful this is something they offer! I anticipate that even after the 'green light' is given for people to gather in the sanctuary, I will continue to opt for the drive-up or outdoor services. Even once the Covid scare has settled some, I will still have my own compromised immune system to consider and will continue to do everything I can to stay healthy and not expose myself to anything unnecessarily.
After church, Ginnie came over for some additional fellowship and so we could get a head start on bible study assignments. We experience every element of the weather possible within a period of a half hour - sun, rain, wind, massive hail and then more sun. Of course we did like we always do and ended up visiting, sharing stories and laughs without finishing the readings. I also picked back up a fascinating book given to me some time ago by my good friend, Dustin, called the Biology of Belief. It is a fascinating book that talks about how we can make changes within ourselves by focusing on them and creating what we want to have happen. I suppose my version of this is probably more about my faith and beliefs. I do believe we have the power to make changes but that also comes with the grace of God.
