#TeamMissy Transplant Warriors Update!!!
Happy #TeamMissyMotivational Miraculous Monday!!!

From the warrior, Melissa Smith herself!!!

She said " Today really does feel miraculous " and what a gift to have a light heart. Amen and hallelujah!!!

She was moved out of ICU to the Transplant Floor last night and has a stellar view !! Pictures below ! She gets to sit in her wheelchair today and enjoy the view and the sun shining in.

The next steps are to get the fluid around her lungs clear and prevent any infection from building up because of them. They tried a medication to break up the fluid, but the pockets are pretty deep, so the next procedure will be to place a second drain on the other side to see if that helps the med break it up and drain. They anticipate that not really being successful, so she may be scheduled for a surgery where they have to open her back up again to psychically go in to flush and drain the pockets. That would happen later this week. Her lungs are okay and doing well though!

SHE IS LISTED FOR A LIVER! That happened FAST! She will stay in her current room until transplant time. Then she will be in ICU again to recover from the second transplant. They said she won't be intubated for very long this time since her lungs are doing great and she don't have to learn to breathe again. Plus it will be a much shorter surgery, so she won't be looking at failing kidneys again or dialysis (but praying they stay strong just in case).

She will then spend a few days in ICU then move to regular hospital patient and finally rehab again. If her strength keeps moving forward like it is , the stay would hopefully be a shorter stay than 2 or 3 weeks.

Missy says " It's a lot and 2 more surgeries sounds daunting, but I've got it in me and my God is bigger. He has a plan! " WHOOO!!!

She always amazes us with her faith and strength
